A companion to The Urban Design of Concession, this volume collects sketches and essays that reflect the evolving character and personality of Hong Kong. Impermanence underlies the urban design language of Hong Kong. Arguably this is a reflection of the embedded philosophy of change inherent in Chinese culture, which tends to impart rather transient values that promote a strong link between the spiritual and the human condition.
