« Mon oeuvre est principalement modelée en terre. C'est une sculpture narrative qui donne la part belle à la figuration humaine. La rencontre avec l'autre dans son humanité est au centre des mes interrogations et de ma création. Je travaille le corps, la justesse des attitudes, le mouvement.

J'aime voyager sur terre et travailler la terre. J'ai eu cette opportunité lors de résidences d'artistes en Grèce et au Sénégal et d'autres voyages en Australie, Mail, Égypte qui m'ont permis de partager la vie de communautés humaines autour du travail de la terre et de la sculpture. »

Laure Gaudebert donne toujours à voir, avec une subtilité merveilleuse, un geste, un élan terriblement humain. Ses créatures sont saisies dans une expression extrêmement fugitive, dérangeante, loin de l'esthétique habituelle, mais si vraie qu'elle nous force à voir cet état d'humanité.

« My work is chiefly modelled in clay. It is descriptive sculpture which emphasises a human motif. The meeting of different members of humanity is at the centre of my questioning and my creation. I work on the body, the precision of attitudes, their movements. I like travelling the world and working with its earth. I have had this opportunity through being Artist in Resident in Greece and Senegal and through other trips to Australia, Mali and Egypt, which allowed me to share in the life of human communities, through working with clay and through sculpture. »
