This is the story about a very ordinary family, which when faced with financial hardship during the depression of the 1930s, emigrated to Argentina, and settled in Misiones on the banks of the Rio Paraná, in the north east of the country.
Along with about sixty others they founded a small and mostly British colony, situated 70 kilometres south of the famous Iguazu Falls. It became known as Victoria.
Nothing seems to have been written of the everyday story about these stalwart pioneers 85 years ago. This book, which is written in English with a Spanish translation, serves to set the record right, describing their cooperation with one another, the hardships they suffered, and highlighting their achievements.
