Having survived - albeit not entirely unscathed - the tribulations of Project Dandelion's Last Run from Earth to its Moonbase, the passengers are guided to their allocated accommodation and provided with a welcome package, the main content of which is a copy of The Moonbase Rulebook. This document prescribes how those making up the community are expected to conduct themselves.
In addition, as a consequence of the need to maximize economy of all resources needed for daily life on a planet with none of its own, all everyday services of Moonbase are provided by public facilities operating on closed ecology principles, and everyone wears a uniform coverall cleaned by the central laundry.
Particularly important is the mantra: "Every drop of water, every breath of air is precious." Therefore it is incumbent upon all residents to prevent any leakage of water or air, however small, from the closed, underground ecosphere.
