The fall 2018 issue of Still Point Arts Quarterly commemorates the 75th anniversary of the publication of Normal Rockwell's Four Freedoms paintings in The Saturday Evening Post. Over fifty artists and writers responded to a call for art and writing that reinterprets the Four Freedoms for our times. This publication features photography, paintings, collages, fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction that present a stark picture of where the United States stands on issues of freedom at this time in our history--the year 2018, nearly 250 years after our country's founding. The simple message from this creative outpouring is that -- despite world wars fought to advance freedom, civil rights legislation, public education, advances in technology, the right of all citizens to vote -- many in our country are not free. We continue to struggle for freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. This issue is filled with the work of creative individuals who used their talents and abilities to express their deepest feelings. These individuals have made bold statements about where we are today and what could happen in our future if we do not make progress toward a free society.
