Architecte d'intérieur, designer et fondatrice de l'agence RDAI, Rena Dumas (1937-2009) a développé une écriture architecturale subtile et exigeante, qui lui a permis d'affirmer sa signature dans ses nombreuses créations pour Hermès, Artémis, Christie's, John Lobb ou Yves Saint Laurent...

Son approche sensible de l'espace, comme sa quête de la lumière naturelle ont notamment accompagné la naissance de la maison Hermès Ginza à Tokyo réalisée en collaboration avec l'architecte Renzo Piano, ainsi que l'ensemble des maisons et magasins Hermès dans le monde depuis les années 1980.

Ses recherches sur les matières et les couleurs ont nourri sa passion pour le design, des arts de la table à l'intemporelle collection de meubles nomades Pippa.

Plus de 400 documents, photographies, plans et dessins permettent de revenir sur trente-cinq ans de création et témoignent du talent de celle qui avançait hors des modes.

Interior architect, designer, and founder of the agency RDAI, Rena Dumas (1937-2009) developed an architectural style that was subtle and meticulous, with which she marked her many creations for clients that included Hermès, Artémis, Christie's, John Lobb and Yves Saint Laurent.

Her sensitive approach to space, along with her love for natural light, are evident in the Maison Hermès Ginza in Tokyo, designed in collaboration with the architect Renzo Piano, as well as in all Hermès's maisons and stores around the world since the 1980s.

Her studies of materials and colours nourished her passion for design, from tableware to Pippa, her timeless collection of nomadic furniture.

Including over 400 documents, photographs, plans and drawings, this book traces her thirty-five years of creating, reflecting a talent that transcended fashion.
