Both the book and the album are unrelenting metal at its finest, and follow the story of a common man fed up with his seemingly mundane existence. After the man essentially commits occupational seppuku, he is haphazardly granted great powers by ancient forces, and over the course of many years he tries to use these powers to benefit humanity. But when good intentions end up bringing out the worst in people, it is too late before the hero realizes the tragic road his intervention has paved...
