Liz found life hard after her husband John died. They had been childhood sweethearts and best friends. Liz explained to their sons, Terry and David, what was happening to their dad and they cried. But over time, being Christians and knowing that death was not the end really helped them all. Then, Liz was made redundant and finding suitable work in London was not easy. Liz had been brought up in Gloucestershire, and even though she had no relatives there now, she decided to sell their London home and move to the Gloucestershire countryside. Terry and David were excited by the move and made plans about building dens. The cottage was lovely. Liz found it on the internet and went to see it on her own. Taking her courage in both hands, she made an offer that was accepted, and the sale went through without any problems at all. Liz felt a new start would be good for all of them. The family were in for a surprise. They were about to meet a new friend who would adopt them and transform their lives!
