'Legions' is the 19th installment of the Andruszkiewicz Legacy novels. It tells about the various foreign legions of the Irish, Italians, Germans, Austrians, Poles, Serbians, Croatians, and Hungarians in Napoleon's army. Our story begins in Meath County, Ireland with a young lad, Joshua O'Kelly. He runs into trouble following his older brothers in 'Free Ireland' patriotic activities such as posting handbills around the villages. His elder brothers are shot dead and young Josh is hunted by the British for treason. A fugitive in his own country, he is smuggled out of Ireland and escapes to France. He meets his father's old comrade in arms, Major La Forge. La Forge takes him into his home where he meets Madame La Forge and their two daughters. He enlists in the French army making his way up through the ranks to Lieutenant. He is among the first members of the La Légion Irlandaise (The Irish Legion). Josh meets his new friend in arms, Edzio Andruszkiewicz from Paris. Together, they live life to the fullest in love, romance, honor, and deadly adventures for France in Egypt, Holland, Spain, and Prussia. They return to Paris on leave and each time with honors and promotions. Josh saves the precious gold 'Eagle', touched by Napoleon's hand, from being captured by the British in Holland. Josh and Edzio fall in love with the beautiful and free-spirited La Forge sisters, Constance and Madeline. Their mutual liaisons are humorous and nerve-racking.
