Het Whaam! label opgezet door Edward Ball met de Television Personalities' Dan Treacy en Ball's eigen Artpop! label waren een directe inspiratie voor Alan McGee om Creation Records op te richten, die Edward in 1988 tekende.

Op solo-albums uit het Brit Pop-tijdperk werd Edward vergezeld door muzikale vrienden zoals Ride's Andy Bell, Nick Heyward en leden van The Boo Radleys, terwijl Ball's dans- en wereldmuziek beïnvloed project Love Corporation werden geremixt door Andy Weatherall, Danny Rampling en Monkey Mafia.

Ball bracht ook de bijnamen The Times en Teenage Filmstars tot leven bij Creation, onder de voormalige naam Ball versmolten indie- en dansmuziek voor Primal Scream's 'Screamadelica', terwijl hij met de laatste psychedelische noise omarmde.
