Dominic's Downbeat E-BOOK

n school, Dominic Shannon was always in trouble, doing his own thing, marching to the beat of his own drum. He was such an introvert. In junior high, it seemed fitting that he would join the marching band, as a drummer. No one really liked Dominic. He was awkward . . . different. Seeing as how we were the only two kids in the neighborhood, I was his only friend, and my friendship with him was my darkest, best-kept secret. Peer pressure! I didn't want anyone to know we were friends.

A few years later, high school happened, and Dominic started out as a nothing. A nobody. Then, we dated for a bit, but I broke it off, again, because peer pressure ruled my world. Dominic showed me, though. He stepped up and showed us all! His fifteen minutes of fame didn't stop at fifteen minutes. With one insanely chivalrous gesture, Dominic had every girl wanting to be his.

It had been years since I'd seen him. When he reached out to me on social media, oddly enough, my heart fluttered at the sight of his name. That dorky little drummer boy was now some hot, sexy, crazy rock star. I'm not sure what he's trying to prove, but he invited me to the show his band is playing at a venue near me . . . and I said I would go.

Now, Dominic is the cool one and I'm the introvert. It kills me to admit it, but all these photos on the internet are really piquing my curiosity. He's hot, rich, and famous. There are some stories that are raising a few red flags, but he's a rock star . . . and I was his only childhood friend.

I'm excited! What would be the downside to hanging with a celebrity? A hot, crazy-fun celebrity?
