English summary: A former collection of essays written by Michael Bachmann mainly dealt with Galatians (NTOA 40: Antijudaismus im Galaterbrief?), justifying the theory that this polemical letter does not argue in an anti-Judaistic manner - though it was often misunderstood, in the gentile-Christian church as directed just against Judaism. The book, published in German in 1999, has been translated by Robert L. Brawley and was published by W. B. Eerdmans in 2009. It has caused lively discussions not least because of its thesis that the expression erga nomou (for instance Gal 2:16) has to be understood as thinking primarily of boundary markers (J. D. G. Dunn), and, more specifically, of halakhot, not of deeds trying to fulfil such regulations. The debate has been intensified by the book Lutherische und Neue Paulusperspektive, edited by Bachmann in 2005. The new collection of Bachmann's essays continues this discussion. Moreover the book represents some studies, by which the author has influenced other exegetical fields in the last years (logic of Paul; cruces interpretum of Hebrews; heavenly sanctuary in Luke-Acts and in Revelation; positive meaning of the First Rider of the Apocalypse; history of reception and art).
