English summary: Is there, or can there be, a process of iconography in Judaism, if the Hebrew Bible has largely placed a ban on the creation of images? Until now, the prohibition against images and prophetic iconoclasm have contributed to the decisive impression, that Judaism is generally image and art free, especially when the prohibition chiefly relates to Jewish cult practices. Nonetheless, over the millennia, a multi-facetted image and symbolic culture has developed within Judaism in which thought and language images communicate with depicted signs and artefacts and develop new contexts of meaning that are able to further develop on their own and be formally independent. In this present edition of Trumah, various points of view are employed to bridge the gap between Jewish studies and visual studies in order to open up new perspectives about the image-cultures of Judaism and their complex medial articulation. German description: Gibt es bzw. kann es im Judentum Ikonisierungsprozesse geben, wenn die Hebraische Bibel mehrfach ein Bilderverbot formuliert? Bis heute haben Bilderverbot und prophetischer Ikonoklasmus massgeblich zu dem Eindruck beigetragen, dass das Judentum generell bilder- und kunstfeindlich sei, auch wenn das Bilderverbot vor allem die judische Kultpraxis betrifft. Nichtsdestotrotz hat sich uber die Jahrtausende eine facettenreiche Bild- und Symbolkultur im Judentum entwickelt, in der Denk-, Sprachbilder mit Bildzeichen und Artefakten kommunizieren und neue Bedeutungskontexte schaffen, die sich inhaltlich verselbststandigen und formal eigenstandig weiterentwickeln konnen. Mit der vorliegenden Ausgabe von Trumah soll aus unterschiedlichen Blickwinkeln ein Bruckenschlag zwischen Judischen Studien und Bildwissenschaft(en) angestrebt werden, um somit exemplarisch neue Perspektiven auf die Bild-Kulturen des Judentums und deren vielschichtige mediale Artikulation zu eroffnen.
