Consacré à la Transition humanitaire à Madagascar, ce troisième volume de la collection Devenir Humanitaire est le fruit de la rencontre d'universitaires, d'acteurs non gouvernementaux et d'institutionnels, réunis à Antananarivo 29 et 30 novembre 2016 par le Fonds Croix-Rouge française pour débattre sur leurs pratiques, les principes et les enjeux de l'humanitaire.

La première partie de l'ouvrage présente une mise en contexte des principaux enjeux humanitaires qui traversent la Grande île. La deuxième partie s'intéresse aux interactions et aux configurations de pouvoir particulières qui donnent sa forme spécifique au champ de l'aide à Madagascar. Une dernière partie propose enfin un focus sur le système de santé malgache, qui est au coeur des préoccupations nationales et internationales, notamment face aux crises multiformes dont le pays est le théâtre.

Soulignant la nécessité de prendre en compte les « visions du monde » des populations destinataires de l'aide, les contributions rassemblées dans ce volume soutiennent une réflexion sur le sens de l'humanitaire.

Dedicated to the Humanitarian Transition in Madagascar, this third volume of the Devenir Humanitaire collection constitutes the outcome of the dialogues initiated between academics, non-governmental actors and institutions, gathered in Antananarivo on November 29th and 30th 2016 by the French Red Cross Fund to discuss their practices, the principles and issues of humanitarianism.

The first part of the book presents the background of the main humanitarian issues the Island is facing today. The second part addresses the particular interactions and power configurations that give the Malagasy aid sector its specific shape. The third and final part proposes a focus on the Malagasy health system, which is at the heart of national and international concerns, particularly in the face of the multidimensional crises in the country.

Emphasising the need to take the « worldviews » of the recipients of aid into account, the contributions collated in this volume support a reflection on the meaning of humanitarianism.
