Jacopo Robusti, known as Tintoretto (1518-1594), "The Little Dyer" is however one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance. Renowned for his mastery of colors and shadows, for his knowledge of the effects of light and their rendering on matter, he is the worthy representative of the Venetian school. His style is fully in line with the artistic movement of Mannerism, sublimated through the biblical and mythological themes that he brought out of the churches and other monuments of Serenissima Venice.
