Kilpatrick fought drought, floods, rustlers and Indians as he trailed four-thousand head of longhorns the thousand miles from Texas to the Kansas railhead. Gunsight had started life as a town where cattle could be bought for the best price and the men who'd driven them there would get a fair shake of the whip. But now everything was different.
