This book introduces the reader to dinosaur soft tissue research (original biomaterial in fossils). It covers the history of research from 1954 to present, and highlight the work of two researchers in this field, Mary Schweitzer and Mark Armitage. The reader learns about surprising things found in dinosaur bones including amino acids, proteins, collagen, bone cells, nerve cells, blood cells, hemoglobin and DNA. The controversy surrounding these discoveries is explained, as well as explanations for why some people think the bones are millions of years old and why other people think they are only thousands of years old.
