This is the first comprehensive book on the full extent of this war from the military perspective. The war began with the 7 October 2023 Hamas attack from the Gaza Strip, but extended for two years across seven fronts - the longest and most destructive in the region. A brief history of the conflict sets the war in context, emphasizing the Israeli / Palestinian dispute.
The expanding war against the 'support front' brought combat beyond the Gaza Strip. Exchanges in the north with Hezbollah prompted a third war in Lebanon. Low-level combat in Syria included hitting Iranian elements. This brought long-range exchanges with Iran eventually leading to the Iran-Israel War. That war also saw direct United States participation attempting to destroy any nascent Iranian nuclear weapons program. Exchanges with the Houthi Rebels in Yemen became protracted. Israeli combat against militants in the West Bank and settler violence reached new heights. The effects of USA support for Israeli actions, materiel and diplomatic, are examined.
The consequences of the war in Israel with extended mobilizations, economic downturn, material damage, costs, and international embargoes, are outlined. World-wide condemnation of Israel for evident war crimes and genocide perpetrated against the Palestinians is examined. Also presented are the fraught diplomacy and the challenges to past norms of behaviour leading to political and societal turmoil in Israel affecting the conduct of the war and efforts at negotiating ceasefires. The social, economic and political implications of the war are discussed along with prospects for future regional stability.
The Seven Fronts War: Israel, Gaza and Regional Conflagration 2023-2025 is illustrated throughout with original photographs, custom maps and specially commissioned colour artworks.
