The Resonance is a dark, psychological horror story about a cellist named Isabel whose profound grief for her deceased partner, Ben, manifests in a terrifying physical phenomenon. After his death in a gallery fire, Isabel discovers that her body has become a sympathetic resonator for the music they once created together. When she plays their duets, she experiences physical vibrations, phantom harmonies in her own voice, and eventually, violent internal injuries as her body attempts to "become" the missing piano parts. This "ghost in her bones" is not a benign memory but a parasitic force that begins to physically destroy her. The novel follows her desperate and ultimately self-destructive journey to silence this internal music, leading to a catastrophic "cure" that leaves her permanently scarred but finally free of the haunting.
