The Mexican-American War resulted in a significant boundary change and continuing tensions between Mexico and the US. In 1845 the US made Texas a state. But the US and Mexico didn't agree on Texas's border. The countries fought in many battles over two years, and the war ended with Mexico losing more than half its territory.
