Omschrijving

Didimo.... the beloved disciple, one of the apostles of Yeshua (Jesus) has been popularly known as "the one who doubted", instead of "the one who wanted to make sure" that Yeshua was alive several days after the crucifixion. Normally little is known about him based on the so-called Synoptic Gospels, even though he was actually the "beloved disciple," not John, as has been believed. Although, Thomas was so similar in appearance to Yeshua that they were often confused, or believed to be brothers, which is why they nicknamed him 'Didymus' (twin).
It has been speculated whether the synoptic gospels were the original biographies about Yeshua, or whether there was an earlier version from which they came. The general consensus argues that indeed, these texts, originally in Greek, were derived from an Aramaic, or Hebrew, source, and that the titled works of Matthew and Mark came from a work called Gospel Q, which others knew as Words of the Master. This work was combined with the Gospel of Thomas, since, as ancient manuscripts refer, it was Thomas and Matthew Levi who wrote while Yeshua was teaching, while the later biographical works about Yeshua were mostly composed decades later, as in the case of the investigative work and summary prepared by the Syrian doctor Lucas, disciple of the apostle Paul. This can be argued by seeing the Jewish cultural component that is observed in the Gospel of John, and is not present in the others, since it follows a different line of origin, yes Jewish (based on Aramaic).
The work 'Words of the Master' has not been found - at least officially -, but the Gospel of Thomas has. Several copies were found at the Nag Hammadi site in Egypt, buried there in 382 AD. C., by Saint Pachomius, when the First Council of Constantinople prohibited texts that contradicted Catholic dogma. By then, some 113 sayings made up what remained of the work of Thomas, who is said to have failed to finish this gospel because he was murdered, presumably while he was in India. Of those 113, it was later confirmed that 44 sayings were not actually written by Thomas, but rather came to be later additions that did not actually reflect words spoken by Yeshua. In this way, almost 70 sayings in this work are the closest source to the true words spoken by Yeshua (Jesus of Nazareth) before the creation of the synoptic gospels.
It is notorious that the synoptic gospels contain elements that did not really occur and alter some events from the way they actually took place, becoming in reality a "story based on real events", not real events in themselves, at least not in reality. in their entirety, and not all in the way they were narrated and/or written. The part of the translation, collating and revising the text is where I have spent the most time, comparing various sources and synchronizing copies, as well as adding the correct appreciations of the words that were mentioned, and also giving an explanation to each of the sayings there. referrals.
Just like the Gospel of Philip, the Shepherd of Hermas and the Epistle of Barnabas, these works were the most studied reading by Christians of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd centuries, until they were censored and banned by the Catholic Church. Now, thanks to providence, this gospel is available and can be studied, understood and shared, to understand in depth and without errors, misinterpretations or manipulation, the bases of the teachings and message of the greatest teacher who has ever walked the Earth.
