A letter arrives at Special Branch addressed to Dr M Murray inside is one sheet of paper in code. Above it says, " Break the Code Save a Life" - When the code cannot initially be broken photos arrive of the victims of a very serious serial killer. Matt heads for GCHQ to ask help of the code breakers - Rosy Ross chief coder helps find the clues to the riddle of the code. Matt and Rosy become close and a new romance emerges, but can Matt let go of the love he lost? With three codes received and three deaths happen, the pressure is on for Matt and Rosy to save the next life and crack the case wide open. Meanwhile Special Branch find that the clues to the sender come from who the victims were, desperately trying to identify the next one. Matt realises that there is more to this than a serial killer but an agenda at the highest levels!
