William Richard Morfill FBA (1834 - 1909) was Professor of Russian and allied languages at the University of Oxford from 1900 to 1909. He was the first such professor in Britain and wrote many books on the subject, including "A Grammar of the Russian Language" (1889), "The Story of Russia" (1890), and "Slavonic Region" (1904).
