In Joshua's Trumpet, Lilli is visited by her missing or even dead mother, Arlette Mitchell, in a dream. Lilli's mother knows Lilli is traveling back to Israel. she wants Lilli to return to Jericho where Arlette not only found Joshua's Trumpet but it is also the place from where Arlette mysteriously disappeared. The request is filled with impossibilities, even though Lilli's father is in Jerusalem on an archeaological dig. Though Zane is going with Lilli on the trip, he knows everything about Lilli's desire to go to Jericho is dangerous. Not only are they aware they are being followed by thieves and possibly assassins; and the ever-present threat of earthquakes in this area near the River Jordan, but both Arlette's diaries and JC Mitchell's journals specifically mention mysterious portals, sacred vortexs, ancient curses, dark phenomenon, and ancient ghosts and beings of unknown origin who just might hold the answers Lilli is seeking. For Lilli, there is no danger she would not confront if only she can see her mother again.
