American Studies: Topics and Sources (Greenwood Press, 1976) indexed notable essays in American studies written through 1976 that appeared in American Studies International, the foremost journal in the field. The present volume, Sources for American Studies, edited by Jefferson B. Kellogg and Robert H. Walker, is a companion and supplement to the earlier work, indexing and discussing subsequent articles through 1982, and updating those included in the first volume. Sources for American Studies is organized in two parts.
