In 1976 the children of Catherine and James Whear came together to clean out the Whear estate after their Mother passed away and found her journals. After reading through them all they learned things about their parents past that the never knew. A couple years later, the first book telling the story of Catherine and James's meeting in 1920 was released. Their son Michael did the editing and always felt other parts of the journals were just as interesting and decided to edit a second book to finish the story.
This takes the Whear's through the crash of the stock market, World War 2, and other national things, plus the birth of other brothers and a sister, the Fleur de Lis incident and their mother riding in an automobile for the first time.
The most important thing that comes through Catherine's journals is the love and dedication in the Whear family. She and James were married fifty-five years and their devotion to one another never waned.
