Years after losing his parents, Akil's brother Milt sent him off to college to fulfill his parents' dying wishes. After graduating law school, Akil's career propelled tremendously after winning his brother Milt's highly publicized criminal case. With Milt now in Miami and out of the picture, Akil is left alone in the Atlanta streets and corporate world. Unlike Milt, Akil's reputation was never built in the streets. His reputation came from winning BIG CASES causing him to be featured in various magazines and receive awards including the key to the city. His aggressive pitbull style manner in the court room penetrated local prosecutors' theories often resulting in dismissed cases and hung juries. Having the world at his feet, Akil turned into a self centered, ego driven, obnoxious individual leading to his demise of drinking, drugs, and gambling.
