This approach was subjected to Pharmacognostical, Phytochemical & Pharmacological study flower of Tecoma stans (Bignoniaceae). In pharmacognostic study, various standardization parameters like macroscopical & microscopical study etc. were determined. In phytochemical study the flowers were extracted by different solvents and Qualitative chemical tests for each extract were performed and it was found that many secondary metabolites like-alkaloids, glycosides, carbohydrates, flavonoids, saponins, phenolic compounds/tannins, terpenoids, fixed oils & fats, proteins and amino acids etc. were present. In pharmacological study, Analgesic, Antipyretic and Antidiabetic activity were also detected for alcoholic and aqueous extracts positive & dose dependent response was found on rats at dose 200 mg/kg. Antifungal activity was detected for alcoholic & aqueous extract against Microsporum gypseum, Aspergillus flavus, Fusarium sp., Penicelliium chrysogenum.Iit was also found that response of alcoholic extract was good & dose dependent but aqueous extract not showing antifungal activity. This book will be useful for botanist, Pharmacogonist and Pharmacologist for further clinical study.
