"I have an idea!" When Grandma B said that, her two grandchildren knew they were in for excitement. This is how our story opens. Grandma B asked us if we want to get to know our town. She added that we could visit all the different places in town that helped to make a community. These visits would start with attending a town hall meeting, the basic element of government that helps towns grow. But something happened at the meeting that was cause for suspicion. It was a mystery; see if Simon and Sophia can figure out what is going on.
So starts our story about a little but progressive town of Slinger, Wisconsin, that has been home to Simon and Sophia most of their lives. Like most kids, they are sharp and inquisitive, so it's fun working with them.
Many people do not know about the start of their town and would be surprised at how much hard work by so many people it takes to start a town and keep it going. Who was responsible for founding this town, in other words, what kind of history can we uncover?
This book will be the first in a series of several books each addressing steps taken by people that made Slinger a growing community for over 150 years.
Come down this path with Grandma B, Simon, and Sophia and join us having fun while learning.
