L'exposition « Notre monde brûle » propose un regard engagé sur la création contemporaine depuis le golfe Arabique, où guerres et tensions diplomatiques n'ont cessé de déterminer l'histoire de ce début de XXI^e siècle. Le titre fait référence aux drames humains qu'ont causés - et que causent encore - les conflits successifs dans cette région, mais également à la crise écologique et aux catastrophes environnementales telles que les immenses feux de forêt destructeurs, de l'Amazonie à la Sibérie en passant par la Californie et l'Australie. Le feu n'est pas uniquement l'affirmation d'un péril ; il est aussi le symbole du formidable élan démocratique que connaît cette même région du monde depuis les printemps arabes. L'exposition affirme justement que les oeuvres ont une puissance d'intervention en prenant position face aux désordres du monde. Le feu revient alors à l'intensité de la création artistique.

The exhibition « Our World Is Burning » takes a political view of international contemporary creation seen from the Gulf region, where wars and diplomatic tensions have constantly determined the history of the early 21st century. The title refers to the human dramas, which the successive conflicts in this region have caused - and still do - but also to the ecological crisis and environmental catastrophes, such as immensely destructive forest fires, from Amazonia to Siberia, without forgetting California and Australia. But fire is not just a statement of danger. It is also a symbol of the powerful democratic impetus experienced in this region since the Arab Springs. The exhibition thus affirms that artworks have the ability to intervene by adopting a position when confronted with the disorders of the world. Fire then refers to the intensity of artistic creation.
