Their affair is over. They agree it's for the best. She'll head off to college, he'll propose to his public girlfriend. No more lies, no more sneaking around, no harm done to anybody. They walk away relieved, excited for life to go on.

Then they each black out. Each wakes up as a prisoner of a violently possessive version of the other. She's locked in a gutted room in the house he's remodeling.
