1. Addition et soustraction
¤ Propriété
Lorsque l'on ajoute (ou l'on soustrait) le même nombre à chaque membre d'une inégalité, on obtient une inégalité de même sens.
¤ Exemples
Si a > 4, alors a + 3 > 4 + 3
Donc a + 3 > 7
Si b < 8, alors b - 5 < 8 - 5
Donc b - 5 < 3
¤ Exercice
Résoudre l'inéquation : x + 7 < 9
¤ Solution
On a : x + 7 - 7 < 9 - 7, soit x < 2. Les solutions de cette inégalité sont tous les nombres inférieurs à 2.
