We are pleased to present the Prado exhibition catalogue The 19th Century in the Prado, through which the museum plans to place its excellent 19th century Spanish collection back in the public eye after a long period of inaccessibility. This wonderful catalogue will give you the chance to rediscover the painters and sculptors who were working from the last quarter century of Goya's life right up to the birth of Picasso. \nThis is effectively a historical journey through the works of the great 19th century Spanish masters from Goya through to Sorolla, stopping off on the way at artists such as Fortuny, Rosales and the Madrazos. The works are selected as prime examples to reflect the progression in styles of the 19th century schools: from Neoclassicism and Romanticism to the various directions taken in the second half of the century, such as Historical Painting and Realism.\nWith the simultaneous launch of both projects, the exhibition halls which from part of the Prado's recently-built extension. \n\n \nDu 31 Octobre 2007 au 20 Avril 2008, cette exposition pr?sente au public la collection de peinture moderne du mus?e. Les nouvelles salles permettent une pr?sentation id?ale de cet ensemble exceptionnel d'art XIXe, demeur? inaccessible pendant de nombreuses ann?es. Pendant cette p?riode, un important travail de recherche et de restauration a ?t? accompli.Ceci a permis la r?alisation de cette exposition, mais aussi la publication d'un catalogue exhaustif dans lequel ces ouvres sont publi?es pour la premi?re fois.Le public pourra red?couvrit l'art espagnol depuis le premier quart du si?cle de Goya jusqu'? la naissance de Picasso. \nL'art du XIXe si?cle espagnol, de Goya ? Sorolla \nLe XIXe si?cle au Prado sera pr?sent? dans le tr?s beau cadre des nouvelles galeries d'expositions temporaires et r?unit une s?lection de plus de 100 oeuvres qui apportent une vue d'ensemble de l'art du XiXe si?cle espagnol, de Goya ? Sorolla. Le mus?e lui a consacr? son exposition inaugurale. de la nouvelle aile pour compenser la n?gligence dont ont souffert pendant nombre d'ann?es ces artistes en raison du manque d'espace. L'exposition r?unit 95 tableaux et12 sculptures, ainsi qu'une section compl?mentaire proposant une s?lection de dessins de Goya, domin?e par le magnifique Taureau ail? Cette ouvre sera pr?sent?e au public pour la premi?re fois depuis son acquisition par le mus?e l'an dernier.
