En 2005, grâce au don des héritiers d'un collectionneur privé, la Fondation Bible + Orient de l'Université de Fribourg (Suisse) put enrichir sa collection d'un lot de soixante-huit ostraca grecs et coptes. La formule « chine nsa », présente sur la quasi-totalité des documents, permet de les rattacher au monastère de Baouît, en Moyenne-Égypte, d'où ils proviennent sans aucun doute. Il s'agit de textes documentaires utilisés dans le cadre de la gestion économique du monastère et qui transmettent des ordres relatifs au transport de denrées, surtout de blé, vers le monastère. Ces ostraca se présentent comme un lot homogène et cohérent. La répétition d'anthroponymes, de toponymes, de dates, et le fait que la main d'un même scribe soit reconnaissable sur plusieurs d'entre eux, laissent croire que les ostraca de Fribourg ont constitué une archive dans l'Antiquité.

In 2005, the Bible + Orient Foundation at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) enhanced its collection with a group of 68 ostraca, written in Coptic and Ancient Greek, and donated by the family of a Swiss collector. The expression « chine nsa » written on almost all the ostraca, leaves no room for doubt as to their origin : the monastery of Bawit, in Middle Egypt.The documentary texts on the ostraca concern the economic management of the monastery and were used for delivery requests of food, especially grain, from the surrounding fields. As a group, these ostraca are coherent and homogeneous. Repetition of personal names, toponyms and dates, as well as our ability to recognize the hand of a single scribe on several of them, suggest they come from one archive.
