Les dialogues mettant en scène des chrétiens discutant avec des juifs constituent une branche importante de la littérature chrétienne antique et médiévale. Longtemps délaissés en raison d'a priori négatifs, ces textes ont suscité un regain d'intérêt depuis quelques années. On bénéficie à présent d'éditions critiques récentes et de monographies détaillées, mais il manque encore à ce jour un ouvrage consacré exclusivement à ce groupe de textes, depuis ses origines jusqu'à l'époque moderne. Ce livre, constitué des actes du colloque organisé à Paris en décembre 2011, en offre une première étude d'ensemble. Il est consacré notamment aux aspects littéraires, historiques et doctrinaux des dialogues aduersus Iudaeos.

The dialogues in which Christian characters are debating with Jews constitute an important aspect of ancient and medieval Christian literature. Though these texts have long been neglected due to negative prejudice, they have recently come into new focus. Modern critical éditions and detailed monographs are now available, but we still need a book which would be exclusively devoted to this group of texts, from its origins to the modem period. This volume, based on the proceedings of the conference organized in Paris in December 2011, offers the first general study of these texts. It is centred primarily on the literary, historical and doctrinal aspects of the aduersus Iudaeos dialogues.
