Le présent volume de l'Exploration Archéologique de Délos
complète le précédent, déjà dédié au Sanctuaire d'Apollon de Délos. Sa
matière, directement tirée de la thèse de doctorat de l'auteur, est plus
spécialement consacrée à l'étude des «petits7; monuments votifs et
honorifiques que sont les piédestaux de statues et de trépieds qui y
furent érigés du VIIe s. av. J.-C. au IIIe s. apr. J.-C. La première
partie de l'ouvrage présente un inventaire exhaustif et raisonné de
leurs vestiges conservés in situ. À partir de celui-ci, l'étude des
caractères techniques de ces offrandes monumentales (matériaux, mise en
oeuvre, scellements, modénatures, etc.) apporte autant d'éléments de
datation. Enfin, une typologie de ces monuments offre un panorama
original du paysage de l'Apolloniôn qui complète les développements
historiques proposés dans la précédente livraison de la collection.

This book continues the study of the Apollo Sanctuary begun in
the previous volume of the series Exploration Archéologique de
Délos. Its content, derived from the author's PhD dissertation, is
dedicated to the «small7; votive and honorary monuments, viz. the statue
or tripod pedestals erected in its precinct from the 7th century BC to
the 3rd century AD. The first part of the book presents a complete and
systematic inventory of their remains preserved in situ. This is
followed by a study of the technical characteristics of these monumental
offerings (materials, implementation, seals, moldings, etc.), adding
many chronological elements. Finally, a typology of the monuments offers
an original panorama of the Sanctuary landscape that complements the
historical developments proposed in the previous volume in the series.
