Il y a 2000 ans, les Romains construisaient un aqueduc de cinquante kilomètres pour alimenter la ville de Nîmes. Prouesse technique, le pont du Gard, inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO, en est l'ouvrage d'art majeur. Comment a-t-il été réalisé ? En combien de temps ? Two thousand years ago, the Romans built an aqueduct 50 kilometres long to bring water to the city of Nîmes. The most outstanding element of the aqueduct is the Pont du Gard, an astonishing technical feat and a UNESCO World Heritage site. How was it constructed ? How long did it take ? What usage of water could justify such a gigantic investment ? While the historian Eric Teyssier carries us along this amazing story, the photographer Thierry Vezon captures the beauty of this inspiring monument - set in the Gorges of the Gardon, which are now a classified site.
