Depuis 1982, année d'ouverture de leur première salle à Liège, les Grignoux portent toujours plus haut l'engagement à diffuser un cinéma d'ouverture ancré au coeur de la cité, gagnant un public fidèle. Pour assurer la pérennisation de leurs activités face à la concurrence des mégaplexes, ils fédèrent les pouvoirs publics et montent le projet d'un nouveau lieu disposant de quatre écrans et d'une brasserie. La jeune équipe Vers plus de bien-être (V+), lauréate du concours d'architecture, conçoit l'ambitieux programme qui donnera corps à leurs rêves, autour d'une cour intérieure : le cinéma Sauvenière.

Avec générosité et humanité, le photographe Alain Janssens prend la mesure des lieux et de leur audace, première commande publique pour V+. En porte-parole des Grignoux, Jean-Marie Hermand nous narre les étapes fondatrices de cette aventure culturelle et militante. Hans Ibelings, rédacteur en chef de la revue européenne d'architecture A10, salue dans le Sauvenière le prolongement de l'espace de la ville. Dans un entretien entre le philosophe Didier Debaise et l'architecte Thierry Decuypere se révèle l'essence de la proposition architecturale, tandis qu'au cours d'une ballade introspective, Philippe Reynaert, directeur de Wallimage, se réjouit de l'incroyable vitrine que ce cinéma constitue pour les auteurs d'aujourd'hui et de demain. Les coulisses du concours sont dévoilées par la chercheuse en architecture Sabine Guisse, avant de laisser place au cahier de recherches illustré par V+.

Le bureau Vers plus de bien-être (V+) est fondé à Bruxelles en 1998. Ses réalisations sont publiées en Belgique et à l'étranger ; il expose au Portugal, en Allemagne, en France et en Chine, et participe avec la Communauté française de Belgique à la Biennale Internationale d'Architecture de Venise en 2002. Le bureau est lauréat de l'exposition « [Re]nouveaux plaisirs d'architecture » en 2006, à l'Espace Architecture La Cambre à Bruxelles, présentant une exposition de douze bureaux de moins de 35 ans actifs en Communauté française.

V+ est présent dans le milieu associatif et culturel, en soutien à des projets citoyens ou artistiques et avec des interventions temporaires. Il réalise des constructions neuves et des rénovations en accordant une grande attention à l'expérimentation spatiale et technique. Dans le domaine public, notamment lors de concours, il s'attache à la réalisation de projets d'importance symbolique, culturelle ou citoyenne forte.

Since 1982, year of the opening of their first hall in Liege, the Grignoux were increasingly committed to the staging of premières at the heart of the city, attracting a faithful public thereby. To better safeguard continuity in the face of increasing competitiveness by « mega-enterprises », they confederated public powers and added an extra dimension to their project, involving four screens and a tavern. The young « Vers plus de bien-être » team (V+), an architectural competition laureate, worked out an ambitious program to better materialise its dreams surrounding the inner court represented by the Sauvenière.

Photographer Alain Janssens took the measurements of the place and evaluated its possibilities, turning it into a first public order for V+. As a spokesman for the Grignoux, Jean-Marie Hermand explained the basic stages of this cultural and militant adventure to us. Hans Ibelings, chief editor of A10, the European magazine for architecture, estimated the Sauvenière to be a projection into space of the town itself. A talk between Didier Debaise, philosopher and Thierry Decuypere, architect, revealed the essence of the architectural lay-out. Whereas Philippe Reynaert, in an introspective tour, rejoiced in the grand opportunity the cinema represented for the authors of today and tomorrow.

Towards Increased Well-being (Vers plus de bien-être) studio was founded in Brussels in 1998. Published both in Belgium and abroad, exhibitions include Portugal, Germany, France and China ; participated in 2002 with the French Community in Belgium in the Venice Biennial Exhibitione.

In 2006, the studio was a prize-winner in the « [Re] new[ed] pleasures of architecture » in the La Cambre Architectural show, an exhibition featuring twelve studios with less than 35 years' activity in the French Community. V+ had a presence in the associative and cultural milieu, supporting artistic projects or citizens' projects and temporary applications. It carries out new projects and renovations, devoting considerable attention to spatial and technical experimentation. In the public domain, especially in the case of competitions, it undertakes the realisation of projects with major symbolic, cultural or social importance.
