Le Chant du Peyote est le témoignage poétique d'une rencontre mystique, celle du désert et d'un homme. C'est l'aboutissement musical d'une quête au-delà du geste et du verbe, la synthèse rythmique de tous les paysages, un hymne à la pensée nomade, à la culture des pics et des précipices, un appel à la fraternité de la tribu, à l'insurrection contre tout ce qui se dresse immobile et froid. Dans ces poèmes traduits pour la première fois en anglais, Laurent Fadanni célèbre le vertige d'exister ivre et irraisonné tout en nous invitant à redécouvrir « l'immémorial savoir qui coule/brûlant/dans nos veines ».
Certains des poèmes de ce recueil extraits de Cartographie du Vertige ont reçu le Prix Émile Polack 2011 de l'Académie Royale de Langue et de Littératures françaises de Belgique.

The Song of Peyote is the poetic testimony of a mystical meeting, that of the desert and a man. It is the musical outcome of a quest beyond gestures and verbs. It is the rhythmic synthesis of all landscapes, a hymn to nomadic thought and to the culture of peaks and abysses, a call for the tribal brotherhood, an uprising against everything that stands immobile and cold. In these poems, translated for the first time into English, Laurent Fadanni celebrates the intoxicating bliss to exist in rapture, wild and irrational, while inviting us to rediscover the « immemorial knowledge that flows/boiling/through our veins ».
