Éric Chevillard est né en 1964 à La Roche-sur-Yon. Il est l’auteur d’une vingtaine de romans et textes brefs, notamment chez Minuit et Fata morgana. Depuis 2009, il donne sur son blog « L’Autofictif » chaque matin (sauf durant l’été où il s’octroie une pause dominicale bienvenue) trois courts billets dont l’ensemble est réuni annuellement en volume à L’Arbre vengeur. Son dernier livre, Monotobio, est paru en mars 2020.
