In a career spanning just twenty years, Lounès Matoub left an indelible mark on the cultural history of North Africa. He became a myth during his lifetime, before being the victim of a political assassination at the age of 42. A defender of Amaziɣ culture and civilization, he left a priceless political and artistic legacy. Today, as a tribute to the world of Lounès Matoub and the richness of Kabyle culture, previously unpublished treasures are made public in this digibook. Nine studio recordings performed by the poet-singer are brought together for the first time. Previously unknown songs, photographs and manuscripts reveal the extent of the Matoub's literary and musical talent. They are accompanied by an anthology of poems translated into French and English, as well as a comparative study of the Kabyle poet's imagination and its links with Anglo-Saxon culture.
