Médard Bourgault (1897-1967) was the forefather of a long tradition of renowned wood sculptors in the Saint-Jean-Port-Joli region of Quebec, Canada. Today--in his own words and through personal anecdotes and 200 colour photos--his son opens the door to all the magnificent works of art inside his father's former home and tells the story of a great era.

This 8.5 x 8.5 in. book, written in French, is also a catalogue of all the art pieces on Médard Bourgault's property. It describes the main house and the three important additions built by the artist and his sons at the foot of a cliff on a big lot alongside the St Lawrence River. The pictures describe in vivid colors all the works of art inside and outside those four buildings.

Médard Bourgault (1897-1967) a été le précurseur d'une longue lignée de célèbres sculpteurs sur bois dans la région de Saint-Jean-Port-Joli au Québec (Canada). Aujourd'hui, dans ses propres mots, au travers d'anecdotes et de plus de 250 photos couleur, l'un de ses fils nous fait découvrir toutes les oeuvres d'art que renferme l'ancienne demeure de son père, tout en racontant l'histoire d'une grande époque.

Cet ouvrage de 8,5 po sur 8,5 po, rédigé en français, est aussi un catalogue de toutes les pièces d'art que renferme la propriété de Médard Bourgault. Il décrit la maison principale et les trois importantes dépendances construites par l'artiste et ses fils, au pied d'une falaise, sur un vaste terrain au bord du Saint-Laurent. Les photos presque toutes en couleurs décrivent les oeuvres d'art qui se trouvent à l'extérieur comme à l'intérieur de ces quatre bâtiments.
