Certain European countries, including Norway, have long remained largely on the fringes of the world's major migratory circuits. So little is known about contemporary African immigration to these countries. A few themes are analyzed in this essay : Education, religion, languages, first-time migrants and their descendants, « remigration » and return to the old country, racism and discrimination, refugees and asylum seekers, asylum, integration policies, identity problems, soon and so forth.
The aim of this book is to enable the reader to leam more about the condition of African immigrants living in Norway, a diverse, often difficult situation that holds little hope.
