De nos jours la batterie Lindemann, fleuron de l'artillerie de côte de la marine allemande, n'est plus qu'un vague souvenir où s'entrechoquent des photographies et quelques images tirées des films de propagande que l'on peut apercevoir ici et là dans les reportages télévisés. En effet chaque lecteur de livres ou de magazines traitant de la seconde guerre mondiale a vu au moins une fois dans sa vie une photographie de l'une des tourelles de cette très célèbre et très médiatique batterie qui était la plus imposante de tout le mur de l'Atlantique. Avec l'avènement de l'Eurotunnel, la presque totalité du site a été remblayé et les seuls éléments encore debout ne font plus que plates figures ne rendant en aucun cas compte de l'immensité du travail de quatre années réalisé en cet endroit. Ce livre souvenir permettra aux générations futures de se rendre compte du gigantisme des travaux réalisés dans l'une des plus importantes positions défensives du Pas-de-Calais.

Today, the Lindemann battery, gem of the German navy's coastal artillery, is only a vague memory made of photographs and a few pictures from propaganda movies that appear here and there on TV documentaries. Every reader of books or magazines related to WW2 has indeed seen at least once in his life a picture of one of the turrets of this very famous battery so often used by media, the most imposing battery of the whole Atlantic Wall. With the construction of Eurotunnel, most of the site has been backfilled and the few remaining elements poorly stand and do anything but reflect the immensity of the work that took place in one of the most important defensive positions of the Pas-de-Calais.
