Zouède à Touadi Halfa, Jean Clédat, qui a croisé les
principaux acteurs de la protection et de la promotion

multiples activités, qui oscillaient entre archéologie,

The discovery of Egypt had its fortunate times ; the beginning of the XXth century, in spite of
profound overthrows, is one of them. From Cheik Zouede to ouadi Haifa, Jean Cledat, who
met the mam actors of the protection and the promotion of the Egyptian heritage, was one of
its most enthusiastic representatives. The author referred to all the scholar's archives to depict his
multiple activities, which oscillated between archaeology, ethnology, museology and cartography. The
