The substances are arranged by their empirical formulas. In the second col- umn the usual formula is given. The elements are entered by their symbols. Transuranium ele- ments that do not yet have an official IUPAC name are listed separately at the end of this volume. Supplements will keep this index up-to-date. The first supplement, which will cover the years 1974 through 1979, is already in preparation.
