Falling for the wrong person at the right time has never tasted so good.

Helen runs a bakeshop. She's independent, old-fashioned, and hard-working. Her tiny apartment above the bakery provides a cocoon when she's not adding a pinch of this or a splash of that. The little old Italian man that owns the building where she lives and works is sweet, but his family is trying to oust Helen. And she's no stranger to being ousted. In a previous life, her ex-boyfriend's family did much the same. A thick skin has left her turning the other cheek, until a tragedy strikes and Helen has no choice but to face the music. Judd is a broken-hearted business consultant extraordinaire. He's hoisted run-down businesses to their highest potential without breaking a sweat. But his ex-wife did a number on him and now he's starting from scratch. Ever the dreamer, Judd finds himself buying property, returning to a part of the city he hasn't seen since he was single, and running into people he thought he'd never see again.
