Huma Bhabha (née en 1962 à Karachi) revendique depuis longtemps son intérêt profond pour Alberto Giacometti. Les figures qu’elle crée sont dotées d’une force, d’une énergie parfois féroce, et d’une sensibilité qui, à bien des égards, dialoguent avec celles du sculpteur suisse. Dans cet ouvrage, des œuvres nouvelles et anciennes de Bhabha se confrontent, non sans humour, aux icônes que sont La Jambe (1958) ou l’Homme qui marche I (1960) de Giacometti.

Huma Bhabha (born in 1962 in Karachi) has been asserting her keen interest in Alberto Giacometti’s work for a long time. The figures she makes are charged with a vigour, an energy at times intense, a sensibility which, in many respects, dialogue with those of the Swiss sculptor. In this book, recent as well as early works by Bhabha are shown, not without humour, alongside icons such as Giacometti’s The Leg (1958) and Walking Man I (1960).
