AIDS has become the most devastating epidemic; the world has ever faced in recent past. Most of the people affected by the disease are within the age limits of 15-24. Education has a key role to play in reducing the spread of the disease and to provide support to all those already affected by the disease. A strategy has been developed with world over efforts to educate people regarding the impact of this disease and train them in developing skills to protect from contacting the disease. The strategy most of the times aims at working with both formal and non formal educational systems, the former being a fundamental system that can address to prevention on a large scale. Many young people lack basic information about HIV and AIDS, ways of HIV infection and of ways to prevent HIV/AIDS infection. Schools are one important point of contact for young people from where this information could be gained. The need for awareness continues till the eradication of this dreadful disease from this globe. The present study focused on developing education programmes by understanding the opinions of people at different levels of formal educational system.
