Pu Yen-t'u

Le Haïga est un art qui unit poésie, calligraphie et peinture. Le poète
de haïku et artiste roumain, Ion Codrescu, a reçu les enseignements
de Ryuhei Nishiyama, son maître japonais. Il a soutenu une thèse de
Doctorat sur le haïga à l'Université Nationale des Beaux-Arts de
Bucarest. Une pratique de plusieurs dizaines d'années l'a amené à la
maîtrise de cet art originaire du Japon.

Pu Yen-t'u

The Haiga has its origin in Japan and it is an art which unites poetry,
painting, and calligraphy. Ion Codrescu - a haiku poet and a
Romanian artist - studied this form of art with Ryuhei Nishiyama,
a Japanese master. He received his Ph. D. with a thesis on haiga at
the Bucharest National University of Arts. After practising the haiga
painting for some decades, the artist mastered it. This book presents
Ion Codrescu's one hundred haiga paintings inspired by haiku
written by poets from fifteen countries.
